Who we are

Welcome to She Unite Empowerment Inc.

Introduction

 She-Unite Manitoba is a women-led nonprofit that creates safe and empowering spaces for women to connect, grow and thrive. We started in 2022 with annual gatherings to foster social connection, and this year we launched 2 major events: a community mentoring platform where women support each other in personal and professional growth, and AfroRhythm fitness classes that bring women together for wellness, joy, and cultural connection through dance. As we grow, we’re also developing new community initiatives, like an African Clothing Drive, to give back and celebrate culture in meaningful ways.” 

Our Story

 She-Unite Empowerment Inc. was founded in Manitoba out of a deep passion for community building and empowerment. There are unique challenges faced by newcomers as they navigate life in Canada and She-Unite is developing an ecosystem of programs driven by community demand to address critical needs, including mentorship, social engagements, and entrepreneurial ventures. She-Unite Empowerment Inc. is committed to sustainability and collaboration, desiring to work in partnership to create innovative solutions that empower community members to access and co-create services that directly benefit them.

Driven by a commitment to inclusivity, She Unite Empowerment envisions a future where every woman has access to the resources needed to succeed. We believe in the power of community and collaboration.

Mission

 The mission of She-Unite Empowerment Inc. is to empower Black women of all groups, including newcomers, students, and refugees, and their families to successfully integrate into Manitoba by fostering personal, health, social, and economic growth. The organization aims to create sustainable opportunities that transform lives and uplift communities through mentorship, collaborative initiatives, and enterprise development.

At She-Unite Empowerment, we recognize that every journey begins with a place and a people. We respectfully acknowledge that we live, gather, and build community on Treaty 1 Territory, the traditional lands of the Anishinaabeg, Anisininew, Dakota Oyate, Denesuline, and Inuit peoples, and the National Homeland of the Red River Métis. As women from diverse backgrounds and experiences come together through She-Unite, we honor the Indigenous communities who have cared for these lands since time immemorial and whose histories, cultures, and contributions continue to shape Manitoba today. We are committed to fostering a community rooted in respect, learning, belonging, and shared responsibility.
